50th Anniversary 1958 – 2008 Celebrating 50 Years of Outstanding Service

This year is special to the officers and members of Station 52. The Union Dale Volunteer Fire Company is celebrating 50 years of service. The company began service in 1958 and has continued to grow.

Station 52 provides extensive services, from fire suppression service, rescue services, public service and education. Since 2004, Station 52 has also been providing EMS services.

To kick off our 50th Anniversary, we have added fireworks to the Friday night activities of our annual picnic.

Thank You for a Great 50th Anniversary!

We held a Dinner Dance in December 2008, with a great turnout, for our 50th Anniversary at Elk Mountain's Winter Garden Restaurant. A special "Thank You" goes out to the Co-Chairs of this dinner: Jeanna Lawrence and Andy Belcher. A fun filled night was had by all with a great dinner and music. Thank you to the Elk Mountain staff and to Pete Nebz who donated music for the night.

Some special awards were presented (photos coming soon!):

Outstanding Sponsorship Award: Elk Mountain Ski Area; always at our side for donations and availability as a training sight. Jack Shinn, a Pro Ski Patroller received the award on behalf of Elk Mountain.

Outstanding Picnic Support Award: Irean Witiak and Tammy Witiak; always lending a hand and whatever else may be needed.

Outstanding Dedication and Service Award: Chief Tom Yale, member since 1975 and Officer for 20+ years; always there willing and ready and holding us together.

Outstanding Administrative Services Award: Mary Reeder, Treasurer for 10+ years.

Life Member and Charter Member Award: Steve Durko

A dedication award was presented by Browndale Fire Company and Chief Dave Richards for the 50 years of service to the community.

Honorary guests were in attendance from surrounding mutual aid departments.

A special recognition and thank you to guests in attendance Mark and Jean Silfee, owners of Chet's Place, for their continued yearly support in offering us areas for training, cooking our lunches on training days, and running the Dunk Tank every Saturday night at the Fireman's Picnic.

We want to thank everyone who attended and made it a great night.

Thank you,

The Members and Officers of Station 52
